Our patch was developed by biomedical engineers and is made in Austria. It contains a very precise temperature sensor which continuously measures body temperature in the axillary (armpit) area. Recorded data can be accessed using NFC.
The power of continous temperature measurement
Body temperature is a vital sign and temperature measurement one of the first methods of diagnosing an illness. Continuous temperature measurement differs to single individual measurements because continuous temperature measurement tells the full story. If a single, momentary measurement is a picture of a patient’s health then continuous measurement is a film.
The brains behind the patch
Werner Koele, M.Sc.Eng, MBA (born 1975) studied biomedical engineering, gained experience working in major companies including a leading global semiconductor group, was involved in the development of NFC technology and spent several years in Silicon Valley. There he dealt extensively with start-ups and, once back in Austria, founded his own in 2016. SteadySense has since developed, produced, and marketed two innovative sensor solutions: femSense and STEADYTEMP®.

The sensor patch
STEADYTEMP® is based on a temperature-sensitive sensor embedded in an adhesive patch. The high-tech patch is worn on the side of the chest under the arm, where it continuously measures and records body temperature at predefined time intervals - all by itself. Continuous temperature monitoring instead of inaccurate, momentary measurements! The one patch per person use, also reduces the risk of infection. The patch is flexible, skin-friendly and medically certified.
NFC - Near Field Communication
NFC is a fast, low-radiation, technology for contactless data transmission. The temperature data recorded with the sensor patch can be read out at any time with NFC-compatible handheld devices or smartphones. NFC is well-known worldwide through contactless payment and electronic passports. Because of the short reading distances, it is not possible for third parties to access data without permission.
